KYLIE
MINOGUE is currently writing songs for the follow-up to last year's eponymous
album.
She
is writing songs with house act Brothers In Rhythm and recording at Peter
Gabriel's Real World studios in Bath.
Since
leaving her last record label deConstruction after disappointing record
sales it is heavily tipped the new Kylie material will appear on Mushroom
UK. She is already signed to Mushroom in Australia.
As
well covering 'The Reflex' with Ben Lee for an Australian Duran Duran
tribute LP, Kylie's recorded a track called 'In Denial' for the Pet Shop
Boys' forthcoming new album.
She
has also recorded a cover of 'The Real Thing' by '60s Australian artist
Russell Morris. The track will appear on the soundtrack of her forthcoming
film Sample People. Kylie stars as the wife of a nightclub owner who has
an affair with his partner.
She
will also appear alongside '80s Bratpack star Molly Ringwald in a new
teen slasher movie called Cut. Both films are yet to be given release
dates.
Meanwhile,
it's rumoured that Kylie will perform her '80s number one 'The Locomotion'
onstage with Sir Les Patterson at Nick Cave's Meltdown festival (June
17-July 2) , which takes place at London's Royal Festival Hall.
